The Fairy Tale of Newquay returns on Sat 12th December 2026! 'Home Alone' Edition 12 December 2026 Registration closes 3 December 2026 17:00 www.purplegeckoevents.co.uk This event is timed by ST App Service. There will be no chip timing for this event. For result queries please e-mail: info@purplegeckoevents.co.uk A Festive 30 Mile Ultra Marathon, 15 Mile Long Half & 8 mile Pisky route along the North Coast of Cornwall between Newquay & Harlyn! Canicross entries welcome on all 3 distances! All runners will register at the Mermaid Inn in Newquay, Ultra & Pisky runners will start on Porth Beach, the long half runners will be bused over to the start point at Harlyn Bay. Ultra & Long Half Runners will be issued a GPS tracker with a live link to the route along with a map at race registration. A kit check will also take place here too. There will be checkpoints at key points laden with fluid & salt / sugar snacks. Ultra & Long Half runners must carry the following essential items: A fully charged mobile phone with charger, issued GPS tracker & map Headtorch with spare battery Spare warm clothing in a waterproof bag (hat/leggings/gloves/top) A hi-vis top or reflective strips-clothing Small first aid kit Nutrition Compass (phone app acceptable) Whistle Minimum 800ml fluid. Plus! A festive ornament of your choosing! Pisky runners must carry fluid and a fully charged mobile phone. All runners will receive a Fairy tale of Newquay medal & there will be awards for the top finishers! Runners have 10 hours to complete the marathon, 6 hours to complete the half and 3 hours to complete The Pisky. This event is supporting Newquay Foodbank & the Newquay Coastguard Association, with a optional donation available to make upon entry. Registration is now open!
